According to People.com Tamera Mowry-Housley is expecting her first child with husband, Adam Housley. Housley is a correspondent for Fox news. Mowry-Housley is best known for her childhood roll acting alongside her twin sister Tia Mowry on the sitcom Sister,Sister , which aired for 6 seasons. The sister starred in a few other productions together, but have now done their individual acting jobs separate of each other. Although they may not do much acting together, you can watch them together in their reality show called Tia and Tamera that airs on the Style Network. In the first season of the show documented Tia having her first child(a baby boy), and Tamera starting life as a newlywed. Now that Tamera is pregnant we can see how she deals with pregnant life on future seasons of her reality show.

A new study has shown that women who are stressed out were more prone to have a baby girl. The study included having women who were trying to conceive journaling what going on in their lives. They also were measuring the cortisol and enzyme alpha-amylase which is an indicator of the adrenaline in the system. Cortisol is present more when there is long term stress in someone’s life and adrenaline is seen when there is short term stress. The women who had the highest level of cortisol were 75% more likely to have a baby girl.

Over the years there has been many different ideas pasted down from generation to generation on how to have a baby boy or baby girl. This study shows that it is not just a random occur of having a baby boy or girl. Although many parents do not care if they have a baby boy or a baby girl it is still important to reduce the stress because stress level scan negatively affect the chances of women getting pregnant. Stress can also have a negative affect the health of the pregnant woman.

Kelsey Grammers just became a grandpa this week. His daughter Spencer Grammer and her husband James Hesketh welcomed their first child into the world on October 10th. People.com reports that Spencer Gramer gave birth to baby boy Emmett Emmanuel two days after her official due date.

Many know Kesley Grammer for his role as Dr. Frasier Crane on both Cheers and Frasier. Daughter, Spencer Grammer has followed in her dad’s acting footstep; she currently stars as Casey Cartwright on the ABC Family show Greek.

C-sections Nearly 50% in China

In the United States, the rate of C-sections has grown higher that most would want at 34%. This increase in C-sections has been attributed to many factors, but many would agree that the number could be less. It was surprising to see that China is facing C-section numbers that even higher than those in the United States. A MSNBC online article states that the rate of C-section in China is 46.2% for the country, while the city of Beijing saw %51 of its deliveries being done by C-section.

Those numbers have even the naïve thinking that something is significantly wrong. There is no way that so many C-sections could have been medically necessary. The article says that women who are laboring too long in some of the Chinese hospitals are hurriedly given a C-section. There are also incidences where C-sections are performed for the convenience of the mother because she is too afraid of the pain to go into labor or she wants her baby to be born before a certain date so he will not be held back another year for school.

Reducing Multiples with Infertility Treatments

For parents seeking out infertility treatment their goal is to have medicine help them have a healthy child. The ultimate goal of having healthy children may be diminished as the amount of babies that the mom is pregnant with increases. The more babies that an expectant mother is carrying the earlier she will have to deliver those babies. There are potential complications to both the mother and the baby.

Doctors have been working to find ways to provide viable pregnancies for infertile couples, while reducing the amount babies that the moms have to carry. Scientist in Sweden believe they have a method that will provide a solution that doctor’s worldwide have been looking for.

Using there method, reduced the amount of twins from 26% of pregnancies to 1.9% of pregnancies. With the goal of reducing the amount of twin pregnancies there also came a slight decrease in live births from 29.1% to 24.6%.

In years to come we will have to see if the method is adopted at more infertility clinics and whether the same results are replicated.

Fake Birth Parents Caught in Adoption Scam

Several people will soon be charged with scamming couples out of thousands of dollars. At least 6 victims of the scam have been identified. The Associated Press reported that charges will soon be filed by the Oklahoma Attorney General against several people that faked pregnancies with the intention to just defraud families.

One positive is that there is not an actual child involved in this situation. This is an all-around sad story and makes you wonder what could go through anyone’s mind to do something like this to another human being. The potential adoptive parents must have gone through a huge emotional rollercoaster because of this ordeal. The fact that they thought they would soon be parents to a brand new baby and add to that they lost thousands of dollars to the scammers is something that takes a lot of strength to deal with.
