Amanda Peet and her husband, David Benioff just welcomed a new baby girl. Molly June Benioff was born April 20,2010. Molly now joins big sister France Pen, who is 3 years-old. Peet canceled her appearance on Letterman because she went into labor. Peet is a spokeswoman for Every Child by Two, a non-profit organization that encourages parents to vaccinate their children.

Woman Water Broke on Oprah Winfrey Set

During the taping of the Oprah Winfrey show last Thursday, an audience member’s water broke. This was unexpected for the mom, who was visiting from Canada, because she was only 27 weeks pregnant. An ambulance came to the studio to rush the mom to the hospital and she gave birth to 2 lb 13 oz baby boy 20 minutes after leaving the studio. The baby is stable and will be closely watched since he is a preemie.

No Pain in Delivery for Gisele Bundchen

Gisele Bundchen gave delivered her son, with husband Tom Brady, during a water birth in her condo in New York. She is said that the delivery felt painless.

It “wasn’t painful, not even a little bit,” the supermodel, 29, says in an interview with the Brazilian TV show Fantastico. “The whole time, my head was so focused – every contraction, the baby is closer, the baby is closer. So, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh, what pain.’ It was, ‘With every contraction, he is getting closer to me.’ ”

Now I don’t know if it was mind over matter, but I am sure more moms will probably be looking into water births. In the article it says that she didn’t use “serious pain medication.” So it was not all natural. It was not mentioned what medication she was given during the time. The medication is probably what helped in it not feeling painful.

Baby Born in the Air

Not exactly in the air, but a mom gave birth on board a Southwest airline flight. The flight departed from Chicago and was headed to Salt Lake City. A doctor, who was going on a ski vacation, was on the flight and assisted in the birth of the 5 lb baby boy. The mother was due in January and delivered a month early. Her husband and children were also the flight. An emergency landing was made in Denver, where mom, baby and the rest of their family departed the plane. Mom and baby were taken to a local hospital and the place continued its flight to Salt Lake City.

Mom gives Birth to 10 lb Baby in Parked Car

A couple Phoenix, Arizona driving to the hospital had no idea that their baby girl would arrive as soon as she did. When it became apparent that the baby would have to be delivered before reaching the delivery room, the couple called 911 and pulled off into a parking lot. The baby was delivered with the assistance of a police officer that responded to the 911 call. Ivy Cate Casteel, the new addition, weighed in at 10lbs 6oz.

New York Yankees Baseball Player, Alex Rodriguez, has a Baby Girl

Alex Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia welcomed their second daughter into the world on April 21, 2008. The couple already has a 3 year-old daughter, Natasha. A-Rod has been with away from the team to be with his family in Miami. He will join the Yankees when they play in Chicago on Thursday night.

Melissa Joan Hart describes her natural birthing experience with her second child on her MySpace blog. She says that she was able to do it naturally with no pain medication at all. Melissa gave birth to her second child on March 12, 2008 and says “He was thankfully smaller (7 pounds, 3 ounces) than Mason (9 pounds!), and I had a better experience this time around.” She also says that “Mason is a perfect big brother – he’s loving, gives Brady lots of kisses and tries to helps me out.”

Embrace moments with your baby despite how your birth happens

I have seen many stories and read many stories of births not going as moms had planned. Just because you were not able to have the natural birth that you had planned does not make you less of a woman. Embrace the child that God has blessed you with. If you were are able to have a happy and healthy child enjoy the happy and healthy moments with that child and spend times making more joyful and beautiful moments together. Each day with your baby is a gift from God and you should treasure those days.

Some births do go way differently from what you predicted would have happened. It can be a disappointment, but the birth does not determine the relationship and moments you and your child will experience. There are adopted moms that may not have been a part of the birth that can still experience the love and joy of their child. It is not how you child came into the world that matters. It is about developing the connection with your child and spending the quality time with your child that creates the bond.

Vaginal Birth is Possible after a Cesarean Section

Many moms do not go into labor expecting to have a c-section. It does happen and it has been happening more frequently in recent years. There has been an increase in the amount of c-sections performed in the United States. Also, is the fact that for many years there has been the belief that once a woman has had a c-section she should always have a c-section, but there are options out there for women to have a vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC).

VBACs are not performed by all doctors because of the risk of rupture of the prior c-section scar. The fact is that it has happened in the past and the possibility of the scar rupturing is possible. However there are many moms that have been able to successfully have a VBAC. There are even a few moms that have had VBAC after have 2 c-sections. The risk of uterine rupture does increase with the amount of prior caesarean scars.
