Babies Don’t Come with Manuals,So Just Use an IPhone

A new application for the iPhone and iPod claims to be able to determine why a baby is crying.

The Cry Translator involves a revolutionary sound analysis technology that quickly identifies an infant’s cry, based on one of five emotional or physiological states: hunger, fatigue, annoyance, stress or boredom. These five cries are universal to all babies regardless of culture or language.

The application interface is designed to be highly visual and extremely user-friendly. Babies’ cries are analyzed and identified within 10 seconds, with a 96% degree of accuracy, easing caregiver anxiety and prompting appropriate response to the baby’s needs. Once the cry has been identified, helpful tips to calm the infant are also provided.

If this really works, like the makers say, then it really would be a benefit to parents. When a baby cries you just want to know what exactly is wrong so that you can help them feel better and so that you can get some peace and quiet. Time and honest reviews from parents will give the final say on whether or not this is the tool that parents have been searching for.
